So you’ve got a sore throat but when you look at all the cough and cold remedies they’re all packed with sugar – whether in a packet of lozenges or bottles of medicine, even the good old fashioned lemon and honey drink is off-limits.

The good news is that there are plenty of remedies you can use to help relieve your symptoms without knocking yourself out of fat burning mode.
Try gargling with hot salted water, or drinking hot water with lemon and ginger (without the honey) or hot water with a tablespoon of cider vinegar or coconut oil.
If your throat is really sore and you (and your partner) can bear it, try chewing a peeled clove of garlic. The anti-inflammatory properties of garlic will calm your throat. Follow it up with lemon and parsley to help neutralise the lasting effects on your breath!
